Meet Elaina

Hello. My name is Elaina, and here are a few things about me.

Pets

I have two pets. Rei -pronounced “Ray,” is a spayed female Chihuahua. She is four years old and a little overweight. Chewie, short for Chewbacca, is a neutered male Chihuahua. He is three years old, fit, and a healthy weight.

Time in Veterinary Medicine

I have been in the veterinary field for 14 years. I started college in 2008 in the veterinary technology program at Murray State College in Tishomingo while working part-time at a clinic to gain some experience.

Hobbies & Interests

I like to play or help coach softball, mainly for young girls just starting out. I also enjoy camping, kayaking, and hiking, basically anything that has to do with being outdoors.

I like to watch action movies. I’m a nerd for any of the Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit movies, i.e., I can quote most of the lines.

What I Love about Veterinary Medicine

I grew up in a very rural area, so I learned how to care for any animal that needed help.

Getting through Difficult Times in Veterinary Medicine

For the hard times, I mainly think about helping all the animals I did as a child. I also think about spending time with my parents.
When I think back to those times, it brings me happy memories that I use to get past the difficult times in veterinary medicine.
